Accessibility statement
Hediot. is committed to making the information on this site accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities, in line with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 1998, and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013.
The standard
The site has been adapted to Israeli Standard IS 5568, which is based on WCAG 2.0 at level AA. We also aim to meet WCAG 2.1 at level AA.
What has been adjusted
- Semantic structure: headings and page landmarks that make it possible to skip and navigate.
- A link to skip to the main content at the start of every page.
- Full operation by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Text alternatives for icons and symbols, including the quiz result marks.
- Language and direction are marked on every page, and on every passage written in another language.
- Colour contrast has been checked in the light and the dark theme.
- Text can be enlarged up to 200%, and the layout adapts down to a screen 320 pixels wide.
- Animations are turned off when the operating system asks for reduced motion.
- The content is also available without JavaScript.
- Forms have labels and error messages that screen readers announce.
- Tables have header cells.
- The site is available in Hebrew, English, Russian and Arabic.
Testing: automated checks (axe-core) on every page type in all four languages, and a manual review.
Known limitations
- The source documents we quote from (Knesset protocols, PDF files, government and party websites) are linked from third-party sites, and their accessibility is not under our control.
- Quotations are shown as published, in the original language.
- The compare page and the quiz are available in Hebrew only.
