Reservists: Party positions in the 2026 election

A benefit worth up to a million shekels when buying one apartment, a first home or an upgrade, for every active reservist, priority for those who serve in all land tenders including in high-demand areas, and use of the entitlement within four years; in the list's answer to the ynet questionnaire, the one-million-shekel voucher is meant for active reservists who have no apartment. Free daycare from the first day for reservists' families, and for all families of the serving public a voucher for use in supervised settings and priority in admission to subsidized daycare. Naftali Bennett (no. 1 on the list) wrote of subsidized daycare for active reservists and a 1,000 discount at daycare for the whole serving public, of subsidized after-school programs and summer camps for everyone who served in the IDF, and of a free bachelor's degree for non-combat soldiers and a free master's degree for combat soldiers. Members of the list filed bills:

• to correct the calculation of reserve duty pay in a state of emergency
• for a grant to self-employed people who served in the reserves in the Swords of Iron war and whose income fell
• to ban discrimination against those who serve
• for benefits in academia for those who serve
• to widen the right to be absent from work for a parent whose spouse is serving in the reserves

A bill to subsidize daycare for reservists, which Efrat Rayten Marom (no. 4 on the list) announced in the committee; state legal aid for every reservist coping with psychological difficulty in claiming their rights, in a bill tabled by Gilad Kariv (no. 3 on the list), who also demanded in the committee a longer settling-in period for lone soldiers after their service and a unit in the IDF Personnel Directorate or the Ministry of Defense to accompany lone reservists. Members of the list filed bills:

• to extend eligibility for unemployment benefit for reservists
• to cancel debts arising from differences in the calculation of reserve duty pay during the war
• for legal aid without a means test for those applying for recognition as suffering from combat stress
• for burial in a military cemetery of soldiers who took their own lives after their service because of combat stress
• for an increased grant for preferred employment on the northern confrontation line

About 20,000 chances to buy a home or land on preferential terms in 2026-2027, of which about 16,000 are homes at a target price and about 4,000 are plots for building houses. Members of the list filed bills proposing:

• to give reservists priority for dental treatment, a grant for self-employed people whose income fell, a longer entitlement to tuition funding, a deduction of mortgage interest for those entitled to housing aid, and benefits for those injured on leave during reserve duty
• to recognise as soldiers fallen in battle discharged soldiers and reservists who were murdered in a hostile act during the war

Financial compensation for employers of those who did more than 15 days of reserve duty a year, allocating land to reservists in national priority areas, subsidising rent and insurance during reserve duty and shortly before and after it, and priority for reservists and their families in day care, housing, mortgages, land tenders and government programmes.

הציונות הדתית (Religious Zionism): expanding the reserve system and making it more efficient, and bringing in the Haredi public, with up to 30 days of reserve duty a year as early as 2027; a Basic Law: Those Who Serve that would give priority to those who serve and their spouses in housing, daycare, land, hiring for the civil service, tenders and academia. זהות (Zehut): moving the affirmative action preferences to discharged soldiers in studies and in hiring. Simcha Rothman (no. 4 on the list) of הציונות הדתית (Religious Zionism) filed a bill to recognize as soldiers who fell in battle those who had been discharged from regular service, had completed active reserve service or are serving in the career army, and were murdered in a hostile act in the Swords of Iron war.

An investment of 20 billion shekels over three years, for reservists, their families, their livelihoods and their employers; advancing an arrangement that would limit reserve duty to up to 50 days a year and no more than 150 in three years; and allocating dedicated land for housing and long-term rental housing projects for combat reservists, by a scale of service. Members of the list filed bills proposing:

• to protect self-employed reservists from demands to repay payments
• to raise the one-off aid for mental rehabilitation and couples therapy for combat reservists to 5,000 shekels
• to give a support package to reservists serving in the system that handles the fallen

A mortgage of up to 90% of the flat's value and up to 2.5 million shekels, spread over up to 40 years, for couples in which at least one partner did full military service and is an active reservist and whose combined earning capacity is 150%; and larger assessment discounts and a price cap on residential land based on military and reserve service data. Members of the list filed bills proposing:

• to admit reservists' children to day-care centres, with the state sharing the fees
• to define a lone reserve soldier in law
• to give preference in tenders to employers of reservists
• to deny child allowances to a parent who did not serve

Up to 100 days of reserve duty in routine times over three years, for operational duty and training; free land or the value of land for families of combat reservists in national priority areas; and a plan that Benny Gantz (no. 1 on the list) pledged to adopt in the next government, which eases the load on reservists and gives more certainty to them and their families. Members of the list filed bills proposing:

• to double the time and the amount of debt after which the enforcement and collection authority can impose restrictions on a debtor who served at least 100 days of reserve duty a year
• to extend the deadline to apply for funding for candidates in local elections who had difficulty meeting it because of the reserve call-up

Official recognition in law of those suffering from battle shock, setting their legal status, personalised treatment, and wider rights, payments and help for them and their families. Yinon Azoulay (no. 2 on the list) filed bills proposing:

• to change how reserve duty payments are calculated, so that the payment to the self-employed is not hurt by changes in the amount they worked during the Swords of Iron war
• to correct how the payment is calculated during an emergency for those who kept working alongside reserve duty
